Poth liyana iskole

Gethmini Priyanwada , of Badulla, first daughter of Anoma Mangalika and Ranjith Welikala entered Pannnipitiya Dharmapala Vidayalaya as a grade 1 student in 2010 .She,now currently studies and continues to perform well in grade 10-F. 

As a child who loved books, her favourite genre is detective and fictions. This quest to satiate her literary appetite fueled her experience in story writing and creative writing, alike. Gethimini, who entered the novel-writing competitions in her school, found the competition quite lacking as to her standards and performed marvelously at every turn. She entered the novel writing competition organized by the Vijaya newspaper and M.D.Gunasena Publications , fittingly named “Poth Liyana Iskole”(School of writing books), writing a book called “Vilapa Dena Govipale Wickramaya” . It was selected as the winning novel, even exceeding her own expectations.

She is also an active member of the netball, carom and swimming teams of Dharmapala Vidyalaya.
