Astronomy Society
The Astronomy society of Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipiyiya leads the students to achieve success at School level, All Island and International level. Based on this purpose the society conducts the scheduled activities on astronomy in the school. Improving knowledge on exploration and exploration skills is one major purpose of the society.
History
The society was formed before the year 2000 but it was firmly established in 2000 in Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya. Since then students representing the society participated in various types of workshops and competitions conducted by the University of Colombo and Arthur C Clerk Institute. It’s a pleasure to mention that many of the competitions could be won and performed well by the students of the society.
